Hope Springs Community Farm will be selling bread at the Perth Royal Show Friday, September 30 and Saturday, October 1. The bread will be available for sample and sale in the Midwest section of the Centennial Pavilion.

The bread is made from locally grown spelt flour using a natural sourdough raising process taught to Hope Springs participants by one of the areas most well known bakers. Rewena, or Maori potato bread, will also be sold. Hope Springs is a therapeutic community which partially funds its programs through high quality social enterprises.

The program participants have all overcome issues around alcohol and other drugs and have chosen to spend a year living and working on the farm together, to gain additional life and work skills.

Hope Springs’ bread will be alongside cheese from Bookara Goat Dairy, one of the midwest’s most recognised cheesemakers. They will have a variety of fresh cheeses available for sample and sale as well.

We suggest you buy one of each: they are truly excellent together!
