HOPE Congratulates Aunty Liz Hayden on NAIDOC Elder of the Year Award

HOPE Chief Executive Officer, Tracey Brand, is thrilled to congratulate Aunty Dr Liz Hayden on being named the 2025 Perth NAIDOC Female Elder of the Year.

Aunty Liz has served as an Elder in Residence at HOPE for many years, providing invaluable guidance that has shaped the cultural foundations and responsiveness of the organisation. It is an honour to have Aunty Liz as part of the “HOPE family”. Her leadership, impact and contribution to the community over her lifetime is immeasurable and deeply felt and we thank her for sharing her guidance and words of wisdom and stories of strength and hope with the HOPE team.

This recognition is particularly fitting given this year’s NAIDOC theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy.” Aunty Liz’s remarkable achievements truly embody culture, strength, vision, community leadership and an enduring legacy for the Noongar people and community, exemplifying the core spirit of NAIDOC Week.
