Sophie Schultz – a decade of HOPE.

Oct 1, 2024

Sophie arrived at our Goldfields North office as an eager 21 year old ready to learn about HOPE. Here we are a decade later and she still holds that same passion for her job.

Sophie walked through the doors of Hope Community Services in 2014, where a receptionist role at our Goldfields Community Alcohol and Drug Service (GCADS) office awaited her. She got straight to work learning all about HOPE and how she can help the organisation to deliver the best services possible to the community.

Job Progression

Sophie stayed in this receptionist role for 2 years before she got the yearning to delve further into the business. It was then when she moved into the Administration Officer role, where she learned more about the behind-the-scenes operations of HOPE.

After 18 months as GCADS Administration Officer, Sophie moved into a higher role as Data and Quality Officer, where she has been for 6 years – and still loving it!

How does Sophie help HOPE?

In Sophie’s current role, she supports HOPE’s services by monitoring and evaluating data, gathering and assessing evidence for accreditation, preparing funder reports, implementing audit schedules and ensuring programs/services are complying with quality aspects.

Most memorable moment

“There is so much that has happened over the past 10 years and I have been part of some incredible projects and achievements but I think the opening of headspace in Kalgoorlie was especially memorable as I hadn’t been at HOPE all that long and watching it grow from the start has been really memorable.”  – Sophie Schultz.

Life at HOPE

When asked what she enjoys most about working at HOPE, Sophie had this to say, “I love being a part of an organisation who constantly strives to make a difference in our communities.

Being a part of an organisation for a decade is an incredible achievement, and we are so lucky to have someone as dedicated and passionate as Sophie is – well done Sophie on a decade of HOPE.
